Clarence Portfield "C.P." Harris was born on March 4, 1903 in Havre de Grace, Maryland. The Harris family moved to Wilmington, DE when C.P. was a child. Professionally, he was a principal
in Gloucester County, VA; educational advisor for the Civilian Conservation Corp from 1934 to 1942; and a general science teacher at Howard High School and then at Bancroft Junior High School. C.P. also owned and managed a photography studio. This album contains photographs of C.P., friends, and family.

Major treatment concerns: ​

• The scrapbook cover is a repurposed three-ring binder in poor condition. It has multiple tears and losses and is delaminating along the edges. It is also too small for its contents. 

• The pages composing the album have torn at the spine edge, where the rings are threaded through, resulting in loose pages. 

• Tears and losses are present throughout the album, the first few pages are in especially poor condition.

The purpose of this treatment is to stabilize the album for digitization as the photographs are of great interest to researchers.
