Brittany Florence Murray

(she/her/hers)

Brittany Murray is the Charlottesville and Virginia Collections Conservator at the University of Virginia. She graduated from the Winterthur/ University of Delaware Program in Art Conservation, majoring in library and archive materials and minoring in paper. After graduating, she came to the realization that she would likely never leave the academic library setting ever again. She has a special place in her heart for morbid library conservation, and has carried out research on lead paint in Dutch Boy White Lead color- by-paint booklets for children, assisted with the Poison Book Project, and has read a great deal about anthropodermic bibliopegy (and peptide mass fingerprinting). Brittany enjoys working on everything that lands on her bench, but is particularly fond of photo albums and handwritten manuscripts, especially if they contain recipes, especially especially, if they contain medical recipes.

When she is not in the conservation lab, she can usually be found watching true crime documentaries, reading horror, exploring cute coffee shops, harassing her cat, and attempting to make New York Times recipes on a budget.

She is very happy that you found your way here.
