Brittany Florence Murray
(she/her/hers)
Growing up in Miami, Florida, I fostered an appreciation for drawing at an early age. This interest prompted me to attended Design and Architecture Senior High School in the heart of Miami's Design District, concentrating in industrial design. However, after taking my first art history survey course, I decided to major in the study at my undergraduate alma mater, New College of Florida.

While attending a seminar on Gothic Cathedrals, I first learned about art conservation. Spending countless hours wandering the galleries of the neighboring John and Mable Ringling Museum of Art, and later interning there, I decided to pursue this fascinating profession. Graduating from New College in 2016, I have now interned at five museums, three private practices, two research libraries, and one regional center.

Currently, I am in my final year in the Winterthur/ University of Delaware Program in Art Conservation (WUDPAC), majoring in library and archive materials with a minor in paper. I have spent the last year at the Library of Congress in Washington, D.C., as an Advanced Book Conservation Intern. Ultimately, my goal is to bring my skillset to my family's native Kingston, Jamaica.

When I am not in the conservation lab, I enjoy watching scary movies, finding a good estate sale, and attempting to make New York Times recipes on a budget.
